How to name your blog will depend on a number of factors that will influence your decision with the main one being what you intend your blog to do for you. If you want a blog because you want an on-line journal will need a different name to if you want your blog for business. Another influencing factor will be whether it is to be a private blog or whether you intend to publish your blog for all the world to see. As the blog owner, you get to make these decisions.
Naming your blog for non-commercial Use:
If your blog is to be more a weblog about your life and daily activities, similar to an on-line diary, some people decide to call it their name like "Amy Johnstons Life" while other people prefer to keep their real name out of it. Some people call it after their favourite pet's name and write the entries as if the animal was doing all the talking. These make an interesting diary too with the advantage of writing in the third person instead of the more personal style of first person.
Naming your blog for commercial use:
If your blog is to be about a product that you wish to promote for commercial reasons, then it is a good idea to name your blog after that particular product. If you do decide to go this route, then you will need to always stay 'on message' and only ever blog about that one product.
If you decide that your blog is to be about many different commercial products, then you would be advised to get a domain name that sounds like what a shop would be called. Then within this 'shop' you will have all the different categories which are the products you want to promote.
Naming your blog for teaching a Hobby:
If you decide your blog is to be about teaching others about your favourite hobby or passion, then it would be advisable to once again always stay 'on message' and not to confuse the search engines and people alike by adding 'off-topic' information into it.
Sometimes, there is related information that is 'of-topic' but adds value to your information, then you need to take care how you add it in and this does work well but you will need to link it into the posts that it does add more value to the topic being discussed.
Naming your blog for story writing:
It is said that "everyone has a story to tell" and a good way that many people start writing their story is by a blog. They use the categories section as chapters and this helps them to keep their story lines flowing. It works well as my daughter discovered before she found a publisher who had read her blog and then asked if they could publish it. You just never know who is reading and enjoying your blog when it is 'out there' for the entire world to see.
Finding the right name for your blog is similar to naming a child. You name it in the hope that it will 'grow up' to reach its potential.
How to name your blog will depend on what it's purpose is to be

Blogging for Web Site Traffic.
Blogging for web site traffic is a great way to increase your visit rates. Most of the blog owners have some idea about what they are blogging on, but few have any idea of what it takes to get a blog site noticed. What has been your strategy so far? Here are 3 of the best kept secrets in the blogging community.
1) Key Words- The key words you use will determine your success when blogging for web site traffic. The ability to choose the correct phrases and problem statements is easy enough when you know what to look for. The skill can be taught to just about anyone. Once you have the right keywords in hand, key word density comes into play. Using them too much is worse than not enough. Be careful with your use of the magic words.
2) SEO Automation- SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is much more than just choosing the right keyword and how much you use them. Where you put them and how they appear to the search engines will make an impact on your ranking as well. Golden Nugget of the day: The closer to the front of the title you set your keyword phrase, the better you will rank. Sometimes just a word or two in front of them can spell disaster.
3) Back links- After creating your content with the proper SEO adjustments you will want to make it as popular as possible. That is accomplished in many ways, but none as important as the backlink. The backlink is any link from another site to your page. This can be from video pages like YouTube, social bookmarking sites like Digg, or even social networks such as Facebook. Now some are held as more credible, but all help to boost your rating to some degre
